It supports LTO-2, LTO-3, T9840B, T9840C, T9940B, SDLT 320 and SDLT 600 tape formats. SDLT-320 is the first generation, while SDLT-600 is the second generation of SDLT tape technology.
The L180 tape drive supports up to 174 tape cartridges. You can either use 84, 140, 174 configurations. Good news is that the StorageTek L180 library also offers an additional 6 slots for cleaning/diagnostic tape cartridges. You can install 1 to 10 SDLT-320, SDLT-600, LTO-3 and LTO-2 ultrium drives, and 1 to 6 T9940 and T9840 drives. StorageTek L180 library is a smart solution for today's data rich applications and data-intensive environments.
